To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

 

  • The exact HP model and product number of your PC 

Troubleshooting Steps to Try

  • Check Device Manager
    Open Device Manager and look under “Sound, video and game controllers.” Do you see your audio device listed, or is it missing/disabled?
  • Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter
    Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the audio troubleshooter.
  • Update/Reinstall Audio Drivers
    Visit HP’s support site for your specific model and download the latest audio driver. If the device is missing, try reinstalling the driver manually.
  • Enable Audio in BIOS
    Sometimes the audio controller can be disabled in BIOS. Restart your PC, enter BIOS setup, and check if the audio device is enabled.
  • Check Windows Services
    Press Win + R, type services.msc, and ensure that “Windows Audio” and “Windows Audio Endpoint Builder” services are running.
  • Test with External Audio
    Try plugging in headphones or external speakers to see if the system detects them.
