Hi @Vicentia,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with the audio on your new HP laptop running Windows 11 Pro. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Check Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X on your keyboard and select Device Manager from the menu.
  • Look for any devices under "Sound, video and game controllers." They should typically include items like "Realtek Audio" or similar.
  • If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to any device, it indicates a driver issue.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Right-click on the audio device with the exclamation mark and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver.

Restart Audio Services:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select Run.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • In the Services window, scroll down to find Windows Audio.
  • Right-click on Windows Audio and select Restart.

Check Audio Settings:

  • Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.
  • Under Output and Input, ensure that the correct devices are selected.

Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Select Playing Audio and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

Check BIOS Settings (Advanced):

  • If you're comfortable with BIOS settings, restart your laptop and enter BIOS (usually by pressing F10 or Esc during startup).
  • Check if there are any audio-related settings that might be disabled or incorrectly configured.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for audio-related issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Reinstall Audio Drivers (if necessary):

  • If updating the drivers doesn't work, you might need to uninstall the audio device from Device Manager and then restart your laptop to reinstall the drivers automatically.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
