Are you actually suggesting that we re-install the operating system for what is obviously a driver issue?  Your first suggestion was to remove the battery and now this.  Please stop with the stock responses and escalate this to someone that has knowledge of the drivers you install on your machines.  To be clear, this is an issue that happened with my laptop out of the box from HP.  I am very disappointed with the software install on my brand new machine.  Not only am I having this problem but my system will not install the latest Windows update.  I'm dreading my next hour long call (this will be the fourth) with HP to get this system working as it should be.

I tend to agree with David. I am no newbie to computers on this level.
Windows 10 home reinstall happened already. If I install 64bit prof I have not seen this issue. However the device comes with genuine 64 bit home thus I want to use that.

I would appreciate some escalation to a dev team as the issue is not unique and obviously a driver, not hw issue.

Thx

Thanks for your replies.

A Windows Push Button Reset will repair the Windows operating system. Sometimes due to a glitch in Windows, few drivers fail to install. My recommendation is to perform the push button reset.

Secondly, the whole idea of removing the battery out and pressing and holding down the power button was the release the static from the laptop. This is a basic step to start with before beginning the troubleshooting. If you would still like to escalate the case then let me know and I'll take the next course of action.

Thanks again!

Hi Mkazi,

I think that it is time to escalate this issue. I had bought two HP envy x360 - 13 inches laptop (one for my son). Both of them had this issue out of the box from HP. As my son did not want to deal with this issue, he returned the laptop the very next day. I am still trying to resolve this issue as I like everything about this laptop. Seems like that every person is having this issue and every time HP has different solutions. Please check all the advice/solution provided by different HP agents - ranging for updating the driver to recovery and re-installation of windows. There has to be one solution which works. Someone need to actually use this laptop and try to find out what is wrong instead of giving canned response.

Need help!
