Hi @Shaima90,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. If there’s no sound coming from your HP computer, we understand how frustrating that silence can be, especially when you're expecting music, calls, or videos to fill your space. Let’s go through to get that audio flowing again.

1. Check Volume and Output Settings

  • Click the Speaker icon in the taskbar (bottom-right).
  • Make sure:
    • Volume is not muted.
    • The output device (e.g. Speakers or Headphones) is correctly selected.

🔁 Try toggling between devices if more than one is listed.

2. Run the Windows Sound Troubleshooter

  1. Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar.
  2. Select Troubleshoot sound problems.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to detect and fix common issues.

3. Check Sound Settings in Control Panel

  1. Open the Start menu and type Control Panel → Open it.
  2. Click on Hardware and SoundSound.
  3. In the Playback tab:
    • Ensure your preferred device has a green checkmark.
    • If not, right-click it → select Set as Default Device.
    • Click Properties → under the Levels tab, make sure volume is up.

4. Restart Audio Services

  1. Press Windows + R → type services.msc → press Enter.
  2. Scroll to:
    • Windows Audio
    • Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
  3. Right-click each → select Restart.

5. Reinstall Audio Driver (Device Manager)

  1. Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Intel Audio, or Bang & Olufsen) → Uninstall device.

Restart your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the audio driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
