Troubleshooting Steps for Desktop Sound Issue
Check Basic Settings:
- Ensure the volume is not muted and is set to an audible level.
- Try increasing the volume using the keyboard or system tray.
Check Audio Output:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Select "Open Sound settings" → Under "Output", make sure the correct device is selected.
Test with Different Audio Source:
- Play a different audio file or use an online sound test to check if the issue is with a specific file or app.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Select Playing Audio → Click Run the troubleshooter.
Check Audio Drivers:
- Open Device Manager → Expand Sound, video and game controllers → Right-click your audio device → Select Update driver.
- Restart your system after updating.
Enable Spatial Sound:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Select "Spatial sound" → Choose "Windows Sonic for Headphones" or "Dolby Atmos" if available.
