Speakers do not mute when headphones plugged in front jack. Tried Windows 'Troubleshoot sound problems', including uninstalling audio drivers and re-starting PC to reinstall them

I reviewed your post and I understand that the sound is also playing from the speakers when a headphone is connected.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
1. Go into Control Panel, then Sound.
2. Look for the Recording tab.
3. Select your microphone/headset as the default device, and press OK.
