My new Omen Oblisk desktop doesnt have audio ports for my 3 plug (yellow/green/black) surround speakers. Is there an adapter? Can we repurpose the 3 audio ports in back somehow that are currently described as audio in (mic), audio out and audio in, (I still have the top front for my headset w/ mic)?

testing the rear ports with my headset i was able to detect and make adjustments to those channels, the in and out channels were muted. unmuting them allowed headset to work properly. I went ahead and hooked 5.1 speakers as suggested above, bkl to blue, yellow to pink and green to self, it worked right away, no restart needed. however, it still thought it was my headset. leaving the 5.1 in their rear ports, i pludded headset into top ports, and it set headset to default but in same slot, like it replaced the 5.1 even tho in different ports. ive since moved headset to ports on my keyboard and system identifies it seperatly now.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
To get the answer to this question, this desktop computer does not build with a sound card, that's why you're not seeing (yellow/green/black) ports.
However, you can use Audio in/out ports on your desktop computer to export Audio.
Workaround: The USB audio adapter - converts a computer USB port into a sound card connect a headset or computer speakers to stream music in stereo.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Try this 5.1 audio setup:
Green is line out/front speakers. Connect as usual.
Blue is for rear surround speakers. Connect to black.
Pink is for subwoofer/center audio out. Connect to orange or yellow.

OK. and now what? Plugging them into those ports didnt magically make it all work or even become detectable. Something must be done to reconfigure those ports still right? jumpers? firmware? an app?
Is this the best I can expect from my 'flagship gaming computer'? That it cant easily accept a surround sound system? Alienware still gives ya surround ports on its top end rigs, Aurora and both Area 51 systems. I am not willing to part with a (2yrold) perfectly fine speaker system just because they arent bluetooth. Gimme some real (simple/cheap/easy) solutions plz.

Can you be more specific than "USB audio adapter"? that search is endless and has as many different kinds of adapters. Oh and thx for the pro tip: "this desktop computer does not build with a sound card" How much did you get paid for that copy/paste answer? I expect more and better from your company.

Hi,
Very sorry I could not assist.
The integrated soundcard should auto detect you are doing a 5.1 speaker setup. I have helped other folks in your situation (HP PCs with three audio jacks, green-blue-pink) and the fix has worked.
Maybe you have an integrated audio chipset or audio jack problem. Do the audio jacks work in a primary usage scenario? Blue is audio in (mic), Pink is audio in.
Maybe you need to check Audio settings to manually set to 5.1 sound.
Hope you get this problem solved.
