HP All-in-One 27 Desktop PC 27-cb0000a (3B5K5AV)

Bought a new HP all-in-one. Audio fades in when viewing videos. Is this a feature or a fault? Please do not direct me to the reply that lists 5 or 6 possible answers, it either is intentional or it isn't.

Thought I was getting a good computer but I feel I'm getting the runaround.

Hi @mcfallison,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The audio fading in when viewing videos on your HP All-In-One 27 Desktop PC is not an intentional feature; it is more likely an issue with the audio settings or hardware. Here are a few potential causes and solutions.

  • Audio Enhancements: Check if any audio enhancements or effects are enabled in the sound settings. Sometimes, features like loudness equalization or other enhancements can cause audio fading issues.
  • Driver Issues: Outdated or corrupt audio drivers can cause problems. Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. You can update them through the Device Manager or the HP Support Assistant.
  • Software Conflicts: Check if there are any conflicts with other software running in the background that might be affecting audio playback.
  • Hardware Issues: If the problem persists, it might be a hardware issue with the internal speakers or audio components of your PC.

To check for and disable audio enhancements.

  1. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds."
  2. Go to the "Playback" tab, select your playback device, and click "Properties."
  3. Go to the "Enhancements" tab and check if any enhancements are enabled. If so, try disabling them and see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

OK thanks. It is not intentional or a feature, correct?

I will look into the suggestions you sent.

I have gone to system > sound > headphones > properties and my audio enhancements choices are off and device default effects. I have tried "off" and the fade in is still happening.
