Solved!

1 week old machine won’t start

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion i5 8GB/16GB Optane 2TB GTX1050Ti Gaming PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Machine wouldn’t boot up. A few beeps on initial start up and then nothing. Switched it off and on again, and got nothing other than a power light.
Unplugged everything, left it for a few mins, wired it all back up and tried again. This time I have a windows update being applied and it’s stuck at 8%.
Any suggestions?

Your 1-week-old HP computer comes with a HP Warranty, and free technical support (for at least 1 month) from HP.

So, you have options:

  • return the computer to the retailer that sold it to you, and exchange it;
  • contact HP, to get assistance, and, maybe, a complete replacement.

It is just unacceptable that a 1-week-old computer needs trouble-shooting from the purchaser.

If you purchased a new automobile, and it had problems, you probably would take it back to the dealer, rather than trying to fix it yourself.
