Ubuntu LTS

On installing XL710 SFP card on PCIe3x16 slot RAM size decreases. I have 2 16GB RAMs installed on slots 1 and 2. The system displays only one 16GB RAM. While booting I get 2E1 Memory size error. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Thank you.

If removing the x710 card fixes the memory problem then the following might apply

During boot, Ubuntu 20.04 attempts to re-allocate I/O and memory space to specific unused BAR registers that were not previously assigned by the BIOS. During this process, Ubuntu removes the memory range that the BIOS had previously allocated to the GPUs and NICs, thereby preventing the appropriate device driver from communicating with the endpoint (i.e. NIC or GPU).

The above came from a discussion of problems with ubuntu and the X710 ethernet adapter.

I recommend you contact enterprise support

If the problem still exists after removing the card then use air duster and reseat the two memory sticks.
