Dear community,

I have purchased a new gpu ( rx580 ), when I first plugged it , it worked perfectly,  but the next day , when I wanted to boot the pc , it wasn't booting for some reason , and  it kept giving me that same signal for 5 times then it stops ( 3 long red beeps , 4 short white beeps ) I wish you guys can help me ,

ps: I have a 240w power supply ,which indicates that the max output is 400w

Hi:

Remove the card, and if the PC works fine off the onboard graphics the power supply is insufficient to power the RX 580 card.

AMD Radeon RX 580 Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database

According to the video card specs, the recommended power supply is 450W and the card also needs a supplemental 8-pin power connector.

The power output of a 240W power supply is 240W.

The power output of a 400W power supply is 400W

You have to look at the power supply label to see what is specifications are:

Here is an eBay listing for a HP 240W power supply and it shows the maximum wattage for each component.

HP Elitedesk 600 800 G1 Z230 SFF Power Supply 240W 702455 702307 751884 702309 | eBay

If you look at the label illustration, it shows that the maximum power shall not exceed 240W.

You're very welcome.

If the PC is working fine with the onboard graphics adapter then nothing should be wrong

However I wouldn't be able to help you find a higher wattage power supply that will work in your PC, and recommend that you start a new discussion on that topic.

I only install graphics cards that work with the power supply the PC came with.
