This machine was fine until yesterday's huge Microsoft Windows 10 update. The screen message said it could take a long time; it did, and carried-on after bedtime, was left running all night. In the morning the machine would not boot. The screen was black, and the fan ran at maximum speed. Power on and off produced nothing except full speed fan. The only clue I can find is that the POST has not completed, so the fan speed boost can not be cancelled. Anyone know how this can be rest please ? I have tried clearing the CMOS, removing all peripherals inc RAM, but to no effect, other than beeps because no ram. somehow this Microsoft Windows update has screwed up the mainboard control data - anyone know how to clear it ?
