I can't get past this error screen

 

(A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed

 

I had just started my windows 10 update after fixing the system reserved partition, and around 25% of the way done updating a black screen with the above error popped up and i am unable to do anything

Were you attempting to mitigate that Intel Management Engine exploit?  That errors seems to be related

Thank you for pointing me in this direction, but that post has a lot of people saying they had to replace their PC and a handful of other half-baked solutions that seem more like tricks to get around this terrible problem but you have to do it every time you boot. Also, none of those people REALLY sound like they know what they are doing.

 

no I was not doing anything with Intel Management Engine Exploit.

 

I will just have to call HP
