Hi @AngelS13,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding password reset!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your BIOS is locked with an admin password that you never set, you have a few options to reset it:

1. Try a Backdoor Password

Sometimes generic backdoor passwords may work. Try entering:

  • admin
  • password
  • 123456
  • 000000
  • admin123

2. Use the disabled Code (i 51291704) to Generate a Reset Key

HP laptops sometimes display a system disable code when you enter the wrong password multiple times. This code might help generate a BIOS reset key. However, HP no longer provides this method publicly. You will need to contact HP Support directly.

3. Perform a CMOS Reset (Manual Method)

If HP Support cannot help, you can try resetting the CMOS battery inside your laptop:

  1. Turn off the laptop and unplug all cables.
  2. Open the back cover and locate the CMOS battery (a small, round silver battery).
  3. Remove the battery for 5–10 minutes, then place it back in.
  4. Reassemble and restart the laptop.
  5. Try accessing the BIOS again.

Let me know if you need further guidance! 😊
