Advanced BIOS option for HP H8-1590EA
03-24-2019 01:52 PM

Hi folks,
I've recently bought and installed a new case for the PC. It comes with fan manager type thing that all the fans plug into. All fans work perfectly and I can see them spinning away.
However, I'm getting the
512 No Rear Chassis Fan Detected, Press F1 to BOOT
message. I couldn't see an option to enable/disabled this in BIOS. After looking online, I should be able to access the 'Hardware Manager' option in BIOS, but it's not there. I saw some people can access it by pressing CTRL + F10, but that doesn't work for me.
I've updated the BIOS to it's most recent version. Any ideas on what I can do to access this?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tomhamiltonstub,
I would guess the rear chassis fan on the new case is not being detected by the BIOS.
Try connecting the rear chassis fan to the motherboard chassis fan header.

Sorry I maybe wasn't clear.
The fans aren't plugged straight into the mobo, but into a fan manager that comes with the case.
They all spin and I can run diagnostics on them all. It's just that because that port on the mobo isn't connected, I get that message.
I want to disable the message. Which I should be able to do through the option in BIOS.

Hi,
Since the rear chassis fan is not connected to the HP motherboard you will get this error.
HP generally does not provide BIOS settings to disable this error message.
Use the HP MB rear chassis fan header or live with the error message.

Apprently they do.

While I appreciate these are older posts, I would be surprised if the functionality was taken away and there was no way around it.
