Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows update advised me to update the HP software which I did. Then it showed a bios update in progress (I wish I had known it would update the BIOS) which appeared to complete and verify past the 4096 blocks. Then it said it would restart the PC which it did but is now stuck on the opening BIOS screen displaying basic PC info upper left.

I press ESC to enter the Startup menu but the screen stays there.

System worked JUST FINE before this BIOS update so to say I'm unhappy right now would be an understatement.

I've disconnected everything from the case, including the power cable. Held the power button for 45 seconds, plugged in the AC cable, keyboard, mouse and HDMI and the same screen appears. NO windows, no startup menu.

How can I fix this or revert to the previous WORKING BIOS please?

Current non-working BIOS:  843F  vF.46   08/03/2021

Hi,

Microsoft does not provide BIOS updates. So you may have had a concurrent BIOS update from HP and a Microsoft update.

This could be a recipe for disaster.

Try troubleshooting steps here. You may need HP factory service if all steps at the above link fail.
