I restared computer to instal updates and it never opened back up each time I try to restart uit gets stuck and stays on all black page with hp symbol.

Some windows updates take a long time and if interrupted by rebooting the problem can become worse.

 

The HP screen is displayed before the post.  If that screen  seems stuck then look at the LED lights that indicated the hard drive is in use.  If they are blinking then the disk drive is active.

 

If not, press ESC and run the HP diagnostic.  You may need to reboot and try the ESC key as soon as you see the HP screen.  If yo press too soon it may lock up.

 

Once into the bios look for the hard drive to verify it is there and also check to see if the windows boot manager is the primary boot.

 

Post back here if a problem.
