HI @Ogry,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP All-in-One computer isn’t turning on properly after not being used for a year, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Power Supply

  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the wall outlet and the computer.
  • Try a different power outlet to rule out issues with the outlet.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power cable and any peripheral devices.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power cable and try turning it on again.

3. Inspect the Display

  • If the screen remains black, try connecting an external monitor. This will help determine if the issue is with the screen or the computer itself.
  • If the external monitor works, the issue may be with the built-in display.

4. Check for Indicator Lights

  • Look for any lights on the front of the computer. If the power light is blinking or different colors, refer to the user manual for error codes.

5. Remove Dust and Debris

  • Dust accumulation can cause overheating or electrical issues. Use compressed air to carefully clean any vents or openings in the computer.

6. Check RAM and Components

  • If you’re comfortable opening the computer, check the RAM and any removable components to ensure they are seated correctly.

7. Test the Power Button

  • Sometimes, the power button itself can be faulty. If you have access to another power button, try using it to turn the computer on.

8. Look for BIOS/UEFI Issues

  • If the computer powers on but shows errors, try accessing the BIOS/UEFI settings. You may need to reset to default settings if there are issues.

9. Check for Updates and Drivers (if it turns on)

  • Once you can access the computer, check for any available Windows updates and update drivers, particularly for the display.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
