Hi @Mrsb265

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that — I know how alarming it is when your all-in-one PC suddenly won’t start and you're hearing beeps with a black screen.

You're not alone in facing this kind of issue, and I'll walk you through steps to help resolve it as smoothly as possible.

What the Beep Code Means

The 3 long beeps and 4 short beeps pattern is a BIOS diagnostic code, and it typically points to an issue with graphics (GPU) or memory (RAM) — often signaling that the PC is unable to initialize the display.

Even though the system can't be easily opened (as many all-in-ones are sealed units), there are still some actions you can take before considering service.

Step-by-Step Recovery Process

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

Turn off the PC completely.

Disconnect the power cable from the wall.

Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain any residual power.

Reconnect the power cable and try turning it back on.

Step 2: Clear External Devices

Disconnect everything from the PC — including USB drives, keyboard, mouse, external monitors, or printers.

Power on the PC and check if the screen lights up or if the beep code changes.

Step 3: Use the HP BIOS Recovery

If the BIOS is corrupted or the system can't start properly, HP provides a built-in BIOS recovery tool:

Turn the PC completely off.

Press and hold the Windows + B keys on your keyboard.

While holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding Windows + B.

Wait a few seconds — you may hear more beeps or the screen may flash. If the recovery starts, follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4: Try a Basic Display Reset (Blind Boot)

If the screen stays black but the system is actually on:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Windows + B — this triggers a graphics reset.

Listen for a beep or screen flicker. If nothing happens, proceed to the next step.

If the Issue Persists

Since this could relate to a hardware fault (like a failing graphics chip or loose internal memory), and all-in-one units are difficult to open without damaging the enclosure, it's best to avoid forcing it open.

You can check warranty or repair options

Let me know the exact model of your all-in-one (usually on a sticker on the back or base), and I can provide more tailored help.

You're doing the right thing by reaching out — we'll work through this together step-by-step.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
