HP All-in-One 24-f0035a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey, when i turn my pc on  my keyboard and mouse light up and the light on the pc turns on for about a second then randomly turns off. It makes a sound which is either the fan spinning for a second or the disk. I really need help because my work is saved on this computer i know how to open it and change things if that would be a problem.

Hi @Akol,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP All-In-One 24-F0035a computer turns on for just a second and then shuts off immediately, there could be several possible causes for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Power source: Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the computer and the power outlet. Try plugging the computer into a different outlet or using a different power cable to rule out any issues with the power source.
  • Power button: Check if the power button is stuck or not functioning correctly. Press it a few times to see if it moves smoothly or if it feels stuck.
  • Hardware connections: Open up the computer and check if all internal hardware components, such as RAM, hard drive, and cables, are properly connected. Ensure that the connections are secure and there are no loose or disconnected parts.
  • Overheating: Overheating can cause a computer to power off automatically as a safety measure. Make sure that the computer's cooling fans are running properly and that there is no dust or debris blocking the vents or fans. If necessary, clean the vents and fans using compressed air.
  • BIOS reset: Try resetting the computer's BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) settings to default. To do this, locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard and temporarily remove it. Wait for a few minutes, then reinsert the battery. This action should reset the BIOS to its default settings.
  • Hardware failure: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with your computer. It could be a faulty power supply, motherboard, or other internal component.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
