HP All-in-One PC 24-df1000i (1W761AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My all in one computer just stopped working, it was fine yesterday but today nothing won't even turn on. The computer itself has power as the light above the power cable is indicating it does, but when I pust the power button nothing happens. Trying unplugging and plugging into a new outlet and still the same issue. Please help me.

@Dano1989,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Power Reset the PC

  1. Unplug the power cable from the PC.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cable and try turning it on.

Check the Power Adapter & Connections

  1. Confirm the power adapter is working – Try using a different power cable (if available) or test with a known working outlet.
  2. Check for loose connections – Ensure the power cable is firmly connected to both the PC and the outlet.
  3. Try a different power strip or wall outlet in case the current one is faulty.

Inspect for Signs of Life

  • Any fan noise or lights blinking?
  • Does the screen flicker at all?
  • Any beep sounds when pressing the power button?

If there’s no response at all, it could be a motherboard, power supply, or internal component issue.

Remove External Devices

  1. Unplug all USB devices (keyboard, mouse, printers, external drives).
  2. Try turning on the PC without any peripherals connected.

Test with a Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect all power sources (including the power cable).
  2. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power back in and try again.

Check for a Faulty Power Button

  • Sometimes the power button itself fails.
  • Try pressing firmly and holding it down for 10-15 seconds.
  • If your PC has a keyboard with a power key, try using that instead.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
