Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion 23 from 2014.  When I turn the computer on I can see my cursor but the screen is black.  How do I get to my Home Screen?

Is there no BIOS/POST information displayed? Maybe your CMOS (motherboard) battery needs replacing as being a 2014 it's probably lifex? They are easily replaced 'coin' type Li ion things that are just clipped in place. Battery will cost you around $2 from Amazon..
