When I first try to access the internet after starting my All-In-One PC, whichever app I'm using (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Thunderbird...) locks up. There are no connectivity issues with my wireless network. I can get around the problem for that session by removing the network adapter with Device Manager, restarting the PC and reconnecting to the wireless network. It will then access the internet and (usually) remain connected until I shut down. (There have been a few occasions when the lock-up occurs mid-session, but the same remedy applies.) The network adapter's driver is up to date (it was subject to a Windows Update a few days ago, but has made no difference.) No other devices on my home network (two laptops, an Android tablet and three Android phones) have the same issue.

Hi @gddik,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I can understand how frustrating it must be to deal with your PC locking up while trying to access the internet. Let’s get to the bottom of this so you can have a smoother experience.
- Have you noticed if the issue started after a specific Windows or driver update?
- Do you see any error messages or warnings in the Event Viewer related to your network adapter when the issue occurs?
- Have you tried connecting your PC to the internet using an Ethernet cable to see if the issue persists?
Let's try these steps.
Reset Network Settings:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status, then scroll down and click Network reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset all network configurations.
Roll Back the Network Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click your network adapter, select Properties, and go to the Driver tab. If the Roll Back Driver option is available, try reverting to the previous version.
Disable Power Management for the Network Adapter:
- In Device Manager, right-click the network adapter, choose Properties, then go to the Power Management tab. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Run Windows Network Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status, and select Network troubleshooter. Follow the prompts to identify and resolve potential issues.
Update or Reinstall the Network Adapter Driver:
- Download the latest driver for your specific network adapter directly from the HP website (e.g., Intel or Realtek). Uninstall the current driver from Device Manager, then install the downloaded driver manually.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi, Elohi_NR.
Thank you for your help. I've tried your suggestions, and these are the outcomes:
Reset Network Settings: Problem still occurs after resetting the network settings.
Roll Back the Network Driver: This option isn't available (greyed out)
Disable Power Management for the Network Adapter: Problem still occurs after disabling power management.
Run Windows Network Troubleshooter: No issues found.
Update or Reinstall the Network Adapter Driver: I had previously installed the latest network Adapter driver.
The issue started following a Windows re-install, after my PC started suffering from frequent Blue Screens of Death - but not straight away. I'm not aware of it following any specific update. I haven't tried connecting via a cable - The position of my PC in relation to the router is awkward (different rooms), but I can see if I can get them close enough to try.
I have found the following errors in the Event Viewer, which occurred at around the time I switched the PC on:
SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for WORKGROUP\DESKTOP-NT7SGFF$ via https://AMD-KeyId-52fb59e29aa83a962fb9eef0fe5b4811de6b751e.microsoftaik.azure.net/templates/Aik/scep failed:

SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for Local system via https://AMD-KeyId-52fb59e29aa83a962fb9eef0fe5b4811de6b751e.microsoftaik.azure.net/templates/Aik/scep failed:
GetCACaps
Method: GET(110ms)
Stage: GetCACaps
The server name or address could not be resolved 0x80072ee7 (WinHttp: 12007 ERROR_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED)
There are also a lot of errors relating to the ZoneAlarm firewall software that I have installed. I can try disabling ZoneAlarm to see if that makes any difference.
Thanks again for your help. I'll report further when I have any information re. ZoneAlarm.
