Stuck in automatic repair loop again

Could be a million reasons. Could be hardware, could be software (windows crashing one too many times)
I would suggest blowing it all away and starting fresh, or take it somewhere or get someone out that knows how to do that for you and diagnose hardware at the same time. Usually, hardware issues will become apparent DURING the windows install.

Hi when I said again, I meant after owning my first desktop pavilion for just one month it happened so Currys exchanged it as it was hdd problem. The replacement has lasted just under a year and has now gone down with the same thing. Cannot reset, cannot reinstall, I have tried all recommended fixes and the kicker is now I have contacted currys and they only have records of a refund not an exchange so according to them I have no warranty,

Sounds like the hard drive is gone again.  Did you register the replacement device with HP?
