HP Pavilion Desktop 595-p0xxx

HP Pavilion Desktop 595-p0xxx, product number 3LA57AA#ABA, motherboard ID 843B. After updating BIOS from F.42 to F.44, I get “Secure Boot Violation — Invalid signature detected,” followed by “Boot Device Not Found (3F0).” The BIOS detects my Samsung 990 EVO 1 TB SSD and lists Windows Boot Manager. Reinstalling Windows did not fix it. Secure Boot Configuration shows Legacy Support Disabled, Secure Boot Enabled, Don’t Clear, HP Keys. HP diagnostics says “No storage installed.”

Greetings @Msquared10

You'll have to enter the BIOS.

Then disable Secure Boot and enable Legacy support.

You should now be able to sign into Windows.

A possible Secure boot workaround available at this HP Forum Thread should fix the Secure Boot problem.

The above Secure Boot workaround outcome varies from one PC to another PC.

For example:

1. The above workaround fixes the Secure Boot problem.

2. The above workaround does not work.

3. The above workaround causes unusual EFI Windows boot manager startup errors.

This HP Forum Thread provides a fix for the EFI Boot manager startup error.

That worked, thanks! However I’m trying to play the new Call of duty on steam, and it says it requires the secure boot to play the multiplayer. I assume that if I changed my computer back to secure boot I would be in the same problem I was in before. So do you have any suggestions on what I could do to enable secure boot somehow without getting back into the same problem?

Thank you!

Greetings @Msquared10

The only Secure Boot workaround I am aware of would be the first HP Forum link provided in my previous response.

You will not be able to use Secure Boot if the Forum link workaround can't fix the problem.

Your PC also has a TPM 2.0 version problem that cannot be fixed because HP is not providing future BIOS updates to your PC.

Sadly, your PC is incapable of playing COD on Steam at this time or for the foreseeable future without a newer BIOS update. This is true even if you manage to fix the Secure Boot problem.

Regards
