After a repair of the computer by a local tool shop, it lost serial number, product number and several other identifications of the equipment. As the tool shop has´t found a solution, i start searching by myself and I am trying to reset those data by using the Bios Config Utility (BCU) provided on HP page
When run the command: Biosconfigutility64.exe/setconfig:bios.txt with the appropiated data in the bios.txt file, I am getting the following message: " reason="Access denied" returnCode="6">.
Seem like there is something that avoid the writing of those data in BIOS...
Should anyone you know the reason of that error and how I can fis it?

@Juandoval, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Run as Administrator
First and foremost, ensure you are running the BiosConfigUtility with administrator privileges. Right-click on BiosConfigUtility64.exe and select Run as administrator.
Check BIOS Lock or Password
Some systems have a BIOS lock or a BIOS password that prevents modifications.
If there was a BIOS password set before the repair (or if the repair shop set one), this could be preventing changes.
You can try resetting the BIOS password using the following methods (depending on the system model):
Clear CMOS: Power off the system, unplug it, and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes. Re-insert the battery and boot the system again.
BIOS Reset Button: Some HP systems have a dedicated reset button or jumper that you can press to reset the BIOS settings to factory defaults. Check your user manual or look for a reset jumper on the motherboard.
Disable Secure Boot
Secure Boot can sometimes interfere with low-level system changes, including BIOS configurations. Disabling Secure Boot temporarily could help:
Restart the PC and press the ESC or F10 key to enter the BIOS.
Navigate to Security or Boot Options.
Find the Secure Boot option and disable it.
Save the changes and exit.
Update BIOS
If the BIOS version is outdated or if there are bugs, updating to the latest version might help solve the issue:
Go to HP’s official support page for your model and download the latest BIOS update.
Follow the instructions to update the BIOS using HP's built-in update tools.
Check HP Support Assistant
If your system is an HP model, check if you have HP Support Assistant installed. Sometimes, it can provide additional functionality to recover system information like serial number, product number, etc.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
