I performed a recommended BIOS update, and it apparently was interrupted. Now my unit powers up but there is no display. The hard drive light is lit and the fan is operating.

Hi @Qmsgirl-55,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP All-in-One 20 is experiencing a BIOS corruption issue due to the interrupted update. Here’s a step-by-step guide to try and recover the BIOS.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Power off your computer and unplug the power cord.
- Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Plug the power cord back in and attempt to power it on.
BIOS Recovery with a USB Drive
You can attempt to recover the BIOS using a USB flash drive:
Steps:
Prepare a USB Flash Drive (at least 8GB):
- Use another computer to download the BIOS recovery file.
- Visit the HP Support site and enter your PC’s model number to find the correct BIOS file.
- Download the BIOS file, then extract the file to the root directory of the USB drive (not in any folder).
Initiate BIOS Recovery:
- Insert the USB flash drive into the affected computer.
- Hold down the Windows + B keys (or Windows + V for some models), and while holding, press the power button for 2-3 seconds, then release it.
- Continue holding the Windows + B (or V) keys for 40 seconds until you hear beeping sounds or the screen displays the BIOS update process.
Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the prompts to restore the BIOS.
- Allow the process to complete without interruption.
Use BIOS Reset Jumper (Last Resort)
If none of the above works, you may need to open your All-in-One and reset the BIOS using the jumper on the motherboard. This is usually done by temporarily removing or repositioning the jumper for a few seconds.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
