If five people her say "clone" -- they mean five different things.

So, did you "clone" ALL the partitions -- including the ESP?

Also, what are the problems you are experiencing? We need some details to understand what you are seeing.

Hi

Many thanks for your reply.  So to better inform you.  I Purchased in December both,16GB OF ram,  and a KINGSTON  KC600 1 TB SSD. I successfully installed the RAM  & it’s worked perfectly since.

I’ve since tried using several different companies FREE CLONING SOFTWARE ! But due to having the problems of not being able to assign the correct BOOT  ORDER I have been unable to take advantage of these free trial periods.

I tried firstly using a free trial , to just replace the MANUFACTURERS ORIGINALLY FITTED  HD,  with my NEWLY PURCHASED KC600  SSD.  This didn’t work, so I tried different approaches.  I’d purchased a USB 3.0 to SATA  2.5”Adapter Cable Reader for external SSD/ HDD  Hard Disk Drive, So I was able to clone from these trials but was unable to resolve my problem  of sorting the correct BOOT ORDER, This was the case every time I took out the Original HDD & tried assigning a BOOT ORDER, I failed.  I tried  under hp SETUP UTILITIES TO USE, WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER, then  USB HARD DRIVE,  Ultimately all manner of ways, but being totally inexperienced in computer technologies it just all defeated me.

In order to be able to try without having any problems with having free trials expire purchased,  DONEMAX  DISK CLONING SOFTWARE.

I’ve been trying again without success to assign the SSD to be BOOTABLE using all manner of combinations of choosing different possible potential chances, ( Obviously  without success, and having used that many different commutations I can’t actually remember which I tried ).

Umder hp SETUP UTILITIES UEFI BOOT SOURCE is used.  Also LEGACY BOOT. SOURCES is DISABLED !!

In answering your questions, When I CLONED my C: DRIVE, using the DONEMAX CLONING SOFTWARE ( and also the free trials) I  just went to Start clone without attempting any partitions, just a full Clone. ESP  - I’m  unaware of what this is? I’ve therefore since reading your answer I’ve googled  ESP & To Be Honest  it’s become  LESS CLEAR THAN MUD !! I do though put this down to my total ignorance. I have to say also,  that I actually do not ever remember seeing the acronym ESP anywhere !

if you’re in need of anymore information and I’m able to give it to you then please ask.
