Hello

My battery will not charge when the computer is booted. If the computer is turned off, it charges without problems. sometimes it works, but that is very rare, and when i take the cable out and replug it, it does not work anymore. If i am in the bios, it also does not charge, so it is not because of the system. If i turn my computer into sleep mode, it charges. I tried fixing the problem by updating the bios (It does not work on Linux and it also did not work when i had windows).

please help, its very annoying!

@jlo222 -- this seems to be a "hardware" problem. Your computer is receiving power, but is not properly "distributing" some power to recharge the battery, and some power to run the motherboard.

 

The only "guaranteed" repair is to replace the motherboard -- but this can be very expensive -- nearly the cost of purchasing a replacement computer.  Ouch!
