I bought a new HP 85W power adapted since we lost the original to our HP Pavillion all in one desktop. When I power the PC on, I hear 3 long, low beeps followed by 4 shorter high pitch beeps. What do I do? I have also tried an off brand 90W cable and got the same result.

The PC doesn't like the power adapters you are using for some reason or another.

What I recommend you do is to enter your PC's product number or serial number in the search window at the link below and buy the power adapter part number HP has listed.
The power cord that goes from the wall socket to the adapter is sold separately and is also listed in the parts list.
Once you have identified the power adapter part number and description you PC needs, go on eBay, search by the HP power adapter part number and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter. Those usually come with the power cords included.
