Pavilion 24 - xa0181na All in One PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi, I am new to this community forum so apologies if this has already been asked. I have an all in one PC (Pavilion 24) and there is beeps during start up. There are 3 long beeps followed by 4 short beeps that the HP site says is due to a “Hardware failure where the system board displays a power failure (Crowbar)”. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

You have a hardware problem. A failing component such as:

Power supply

DIMMs

SATA or USB devices connected to the motherboard

CPU or motherboard

You have to reseat/replace components using known good replacement parts until you locate the bad component.

The fix could be simple such as replace the external power supply or replace a DIMM. The fix could be expensive such as replace the motherboard and/or the CPU.

Regards

Hi Grzwacz - thanks, this was very helpful. I actually never thought about the power supply and this appears to the problem. Thanks for your help again.
