15inch Omen

I set a password in the bios. Unfortunately I forgot this password and I need to pop out the bios battery to see if that clears the password. The problem is that I can't find the bios battery. Anyone have a manual to explain where it is?

What is your HP Omen 15" ? Probably it does not have RTC (or CMOS) battery.

Regards.

It is a 15-dc1030nr

If it doesnt have a bios battery then is there anyway of clearing the bios and therefore its password?

I tried Windows-B to reset the bios but I still am stuck.  Is there no way to reset the bios password?

Is this a laptop? Asking because you posted this in the Desktops section -- and that only makes things more confusing.

Removing a battery in a laptop does NOTHING to reset any BIOS password, so hunting for that is wasting your time.

BIOS and power-on passwords are contained in the firmware that is present inside the BIOS chips -- which are soldered to the motherboard and thus, are not replaceable. So, you can't just buy a replacement chip and swap them. Also, neither your nor HP can reset the BIOS password on the current motherboard. Thus, replacement of the motherboard is required with one that has a BIOS chip that does not have a password in the firmware. This is very expensive to do and can often cost more than simply replacing the PC

If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard, you would have to take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do anything for you -- but we can not assist in that in any way.
