I was notified of an update in HP assistant.  I ran the update and restarted as instructed. On restart the system tries to reboot, runs for 10 seconds, shuts down for about 5 seconds and tries to again  to power on in an endless cycle.

Hi,

 

You have a bad BIOS update.

 

Try all Desktop recovery steps at this site (Link).

 

You may have to contact HP support if recovery steps fail.
