Hi

Where did the BIOS update originate? HP or Windows Update?

You have video. That is good. Do you have USB: keyboard and mouse function?

Try all BIOS recovery troubleshooting steps at this site.

Hi @Ruggedneptune64

You seem to have the same problem affecting many users in the forum. I am not sure what state your PC is in.

Do you have USB function?

Your PC has the MonkD MB. There are no BIOS revision updates for this board. Your MB's BIOS cannot be flashed to a previous BIOS version.

You can't use the AMI Firmware Update Utility (Link), you can't use the Serial ISP Programmer (Link).

Sorry, but I don't see any BIOS recovery options if all recovery tips at this Link fail.

I dont know why i formated a usb drive with firmware bios files but when its in the bios menu it still cant find the bios files and does the count down before restarting. Do i boot the computer with only the usb drive plugged in. The drive is a sandisk 128gb formated with the hp program  to fat 32 with the bios/firmware files

Hi

I can't get a handle on your situation. Can you use the PC before attempting a BIOS update? Don't do the BIOS update if your PC is okay.

Connect the USB stick.

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap "ESC" select "F9". Select the UEFI USB device to boot to the USB HP BIOS update.

Follow prompts to update the BIOS.

Hi @Prométhée

Good work!

I could not find a MB SSID 86F2 BIOS update for this PC.

A PC Tech should be able to reprogram the BIOS using one of the BIOS versions you have provided and a Serial ISP Programmer.

Hi @Prométhée

Downloaded both BIOS files. Extracted contents using 7Zip.

Both files are for MB SSID 86F3, not 86F2.

Using either file will result in a MB mismatch.
