My HP Spectre is in Bitlocker Recovery - I did not enable bitlocker so i do not have a key. Microsoft was not much help. They said to contact HP since they must have enabled Bitlocker since i did not. They suggested that HP might have the bitlocker key. Any ideas on how i might find that out? Microsoft also said the only way bitlocker would enable itself is if their was a hardware upgrade or firmware upgrade that triggered Bitlocker Recovery. They suggested if HP did not have the key, they could downgrade the firmware. Any idea on how i would accomplish this or how risky it is? My laptop is out of warranty as its about 3 years old.
I am trying to be patient. Everything i have read so far is not promising.

In that case it is not permitted to post instructions about locked password, bios password, windows password cause security measures.
According to the Community's Rules of Participation:
