Black Screen & Update Issues

HP Recommended
Intel Celeron
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,for the pass few days my laptop has not been coming back on. On August 2-3,2020, I was updating my laptop and after the laptop was done updating,it didn't come back on. My screen was black and I tried taking the battery out,turning it on and back off and the HP logo and the loading circle popped up and it was on there for an hour nothing changed. I did the hard reset the next day after work,it can back on but it was really really slow and I couldn't even save my files or anything that's on my laptop. I've tried all the tips and I recently did the HP Diagnostics test as wel when the error popped up about the hard drive failed.  When I did all the test it says everything passed but the Hard Drive/SSD SMART Check & Short  DST Checking needs action and WARNING. My laptop screen has been black for the pass few days and/or the HP logo pops up every time I turn it on. Can anyone help me please?

@Erica1999

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

If hard drive is failed then you need to replace the failed drive in order to make Operating System function to the fullest.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
