HP ENVY x360 - 15-bp101ne

After travelling all of a sudden my HP envy laptop stopped working, when i turn it on i see only a black screen and the capslock button blink 3 times then stops and then starts blinking again 3 times but in a faster rate and stops, the cycle of the 3 blink repeats once slowly and the second time faster. When i first tried opening the laptop  only the hp logo screen appeared with a loading sign at the bottom and then a message (there is a problem with your pc) appeared, and then another message that sayed (laptop will shut down) appeared, since then all i get is the black screen and the capslock blinking.

@D_for-desperate -- how old is your computer?

If it is less than 12 months old, contact HP Support, via http://support.HP.com

to open a "case" (as HP calls it) to make a claim against the warranty.

HP will repair/replace your computer, at their expense.

If it is "older", and you do not have the technical skills to trouble-shoot, I recommend that you find a local owner/operator computer store, where you can pay the owner/operator to trouble-shoot.  Such a store like this "bets its business" on providing good service, and favourable "tell-your-friends" opinions. Much better than any "Geek-With-A-Jeep" type of mobile computer-whizzes who are not "customer-friendly".

It is about 2 years old. Actually that was what i was planing to do. But i am just trying to find out the problem because i already tried going to two places and i felt that i was being either scammed or they just can't figure out what is wrong with the laptop. So knowing the possible issue will help out.

So, the motherboard _did_ load Windows from the disk-drive, but then Windows detected that something was wrong, that could have been a sign that the motherboard was beginning to malfunction.

A definite "hint" that the motherboard's condition has completely deteriorated.

Trying to locate & purchase a replacement motherboard will be difficult, and probably very expensive.

It's better to invest your money in a new Windows-11 computer, rather than paying to repair a computer that needs to be replaced by October 2025 -- when Microsoft will send Windows-10 to its "sunset".

So, it is time to "cut your losses" -- remove the disk-drive (it can be temporarily connected to another computer, to access your Personal Files), remove the RAM (maybe somebody on your local "Craig's List" is looking to buy RAM), and give the rest to a local owner/operator computer store. They may have a customer with a laptop that has a broken screen that can be replaced by your screen -- good karma to help that store-owner.
