Kept getting Blue Screen that said I had an inaccessible_boot_device, and I tried to search for a solution online but I couldn’t find anything concrete and what i did try never worked.
I tried to reset the computer due to the fact that if there was a program or file or system error, that it should clean it up.
Then when I tried to get it to turn back on, a black screen appeared in front of me saying,
“Boot Device Not Found”
”Please install an operating system on the Drive/Disk”
“Hard Drive/Disk 3F0”
- I did the reset where windows would be reinstalled from this laptop/pc (I think that might be the problem I’m having now)
- I’ve tried resetting BIOS to defaults and it did nothing
- I checked the HP support page, and it had nothing on it that helped

if nothing changes, the system disk probably needs to be replaced
@FloatingMarsh if you followed correctly what is mentioned here
at some point you must have checked the status of the hard drive, if present, and then attempted a factory recovery..
as mentioned in my answer, if nothing works with what is stated in the links, then you definitely need to replace your system disk
1:Open the Component Tests menu when Windows won't start
When Windows won't start, use the following instructions to open the Component Tests menu.
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and immediately press esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu is displayed, press the f2 key.
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
Perform hard drive tests in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
you speak at a moment of memory?
is it the system hard drive test, or the ram memory test that failed here?

Then when I tried to get it to turn back on, a black screen appeared in front of me saying,
“Boot Device Not Found”
”Please install an operating system on the Drive/Disk”
“Hard Drive/Disk 3F0”
That code indicates a disk error.
Please run diagnostics: Tape ESC after powering on and run at least one pass
You have an M.2 SSD. If the disk fails it needs to be replaced. Please report any error from the diagnostic as the failure may be the controller, not the disk.
It is possible you have a cloud recovery download available. :Please post your product ID including the 3 letters after the # character as shown here
I assume you have backed up any important files from the M.2 SSD drive already.
It may be necessary to do a clean install of windows 10

I have only older HP systems and do not know exactly what diagnostics you have.
Did you pass the SMART test?
Disk connectivity?
A disk test such as SMART will take as few minutes and the activity light will blink indicating the drive is being tested.
Was there any indication the drive is working?
Do the test options list a disk test?
If possible take a photo and post it
Troubleshooting for your system is here
I assume you run the fast test?
If you passed all the test (step 4 above) then system is OK and just need to get the OS to boot.
Please confirm the tests passed.
To get the system to boot we can run the startup repair or can restore from the cloud or from Microsoft windows download.
Your full product ID is needed to find if the cloud restore is avaialble. Hopefully we can just do a startup repair.
What do you mean by
but the long test could not be run for some reason,
Did the system lock up where you had to turn the power off to get it to work again?
If you think this reply was helpful, please mark it as so or as a solution.. Thank You!
