Hi @Amju1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the “Boot Device Not Found” error usually indicates that your PC is having trouble locating or accessing the hard drive where the operating system is installed.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
1. Run System Diagnostics
- Press F2 to enter the System Diagnostics tool. This will help you determine if there’s a hardware issue with your hard drive. Follow the on-screen instructions to run a test.
2. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
- Restart your PC and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F2, or F10 during startup).
- Ensure that the hard drive is detected and correctly configured. If it’s not listed, it might indicate a hardware issue.
3. Check Physical Connections
- If you're comfortable opening your PC, ensure that the hard drive cables are securely connected to both the motherboard and the hard drive.
4. Use Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
- You can try to repair the boot configuration:
- Boot from a Windows installation media (USB or DVD).
- Select your language and keyboard preferences, then click Next.
- Click Repair your computer.
- Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Check for Hard Drive Failure
- If diagnostics indicate a hard drive failure, you may need to replace the hard drive. If your PC is still under warranty, contact HP support for assistance.
6. Reinstall Windows
- If the hard drive appears to be functioning correctly but the OS is missing or corrupt, you might need to reinstall Windows. You can use the installation media to do this.
