Check if your windows drive is recognized in Bios or in HP diagnosis test. If not, then your drive is loose, failed or damaged.

Try doing battery reset + reseating your windows drive properly with cleaning and test.

If remains then, Try a different SSD (or test the SSD in another PC). This tells you whether the problem is the drive or the laptop.

  • If you have another 2.5" SATA SSD/HDD/SSD in same port, install it and see if BIOS detects it.
  • If the other drive is detected: your original SSD is likely dead. So get new one
  • If no drive is detected: the laptop’s Storage port/controller or cable is suspect. For that visit nearest nearest hp authorised service center for diagnosis and repair. Call before visit, ask for required documents and also take video of current working laptop status at service center before giving them laptop for diagnosis and repair.
