Help!  I recently tried to reset my laptop to factory settings, but once I did that when I power it up, I get the message on a black screen:

BootDevice Not Found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk.

Hard Disl (3F0)

f2 System Diagnostics

I have for hours followed prompts to run system checks and tests which have all passed and update Bios, but it doesn't go away and I can't access Windows at all.  I have wasted so much time!!

Do you have any important data in windows? Does your windows drive information shown in BIOS?

HP Recommended

No, I just wanted to reset the computer as I no longer use it for what i was doing and though the kids could use this. I'm not sure if the windows drive information shows in BIOS, how can i check?

Boot intro laptop bios. To do this, Open Settings (press Win + I), then navigate to Update & Security > Recovery.

Under Advanced startup, select Restart now to enter the blue screen menu.

From there, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings, and click Restart

Windows won't open though.  I can get to Bios setup, but there is noTroubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings, and click Restart

My system is using the latest BIOS version: Q85 Ver.01.31.00

Then from bios information tab, tell me if your storage driver is recognised. It's name or any info shown there ?

Do you mean under Storage Device in the Advanced System information?    It says:

Storage Device:  SK hynix PC401 and then a whole heap more numbers and letters (256GB) or somewhere else?

Good then. Do you have any important data in laptop? If not then create bootable usb using another windows system and clean install windows on your disk. Delete old windows drive and it's partition then select unallocated space and install windows in it. That's the only option to fix this corruption.
