I couldn't boot if I use memory greater than 2gb RAM . I checked all the RAM Sticks, slots bios version is fine. Mine is HP 1791 Motherboard with i5-3470 had 16 GB DDR3 Installed before the pc freezing and BSOD which led to this issue. I tried to use 2+2 configs too but this works when used solely but not when used together. Is it the problem of memory controller?

Please provide the Product ID or exact model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol.

The only 1791 I can find are these

and

neither of the above use the i5-3470 CPU

reference this system

For 32gb of memory you need 2Rx8 (dual rank) memory, 4 sticks of 8gb  @#677034-001

677034-001
8GB, 1600MHz, 240-pin, PC3-12800E 512Mx8, CL=11, DDR3-1600 Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM)

using only 2gb or 4gb sticks you can use either 1Rx8 or 2Rx8 but I do not recommend mixing single and dual rank memory

682412-001
2GB, 1600MHz, PC3-12800E 256Mx8, DDR3-1600 Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM)
682413-001
4GB, 1600MHz, PC3-12800E 256Mx8, DDR3-1600 Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM)

I tried using 8gb RAM DDR3 thats dual rank (1600 Mhz), It doesn't boot up.It only boots when using 2gb RAM I tried 2 sticks individually, it boots up but when combined it doesn't boot up (2+2). What could be the possible issue with it?

It would be very helpful if anyone could address about this issue !
