Probook 455 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was gifted a probook 455 g5 recently but I have some repairs to make with the keyboard due to a tea spill but now, it’s not going past the boot screen. It’s either booting or preparing automatic repair before the screen goes blank again. And the hard reset isn’t working. I’m just trying to see if there’s a quick solution before I take it to the Hp office

If the keyboard has not been repaired, then it might be advisable to try anything until that has been done.

However, the best thing to do is find out if there are any issues that might be causing the preparing automatic repair.

If the keyboard will allow, run the diagnostics routine.

To run the Diagnostics routine, Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.
Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick Diagnostics from that popup menu, F2.
Report back with the results.

Thank you, I tried running a test(fast and extensive) it passed the fast test but went off during the extensive test and I tried updating Bios but after reboot, it went into preparing automatic repair again before booting again. Turns out the keyboard works. I also tried recovery manager to format it but it wouldn’t go through. It showed the stop code : driver pnp watchdog

That error is trouble with hardware or driver issue.  From looking at the various threads on that issue, it seems to be very difficult to narrow down.

First, does this laptop have a hard drive or a SSD or both?

I can’t tell but I think it uses both

Go back to my previous post indicating how to run the Diagnostics routine and do that.  I do not see that you posted the results.  That should also indicate the presence of more than one drive.
