My mom's pavillion 20 all in one still jacked from yhree years ago and now my probook 470 G5 hacked exactly the same. Pavillion has me locked out with grey bars or outright refusal by administrator and now same on the 470. Pavillion has windows 7, 8.0 and 8.1 OS running in reverse hierararcy. The 470 was windows 10 i upgraded to 11. Made a recovery usb drive and bitlocker drive. Now its controlled by 7, 8.0 and 8.1. Of course usb drives are not recognized and cmd functions are windows 7. I want to kill every slimeball open coder. Please help.

Are any of these PCs using PUBLIC WiFi -- like in Starbucks or other such places? Asking because Public WiFi is notorious about being insecure.
Any PC that has been hacked needs to have the following done:
1) Drive cleansing -- the drive has to be removed and WIPED of the data, not just reformatted. You have to connect the drive to a working PC and run a Secure Erase on the drive, which requires special software. MiniTool used to provide a free downloadable Partition tool too do this. You need to check there to see if they still have it.
2) Complete Windows reinstall -- once the drive is WIPED, there will be nothing present to prevent a Windows reinstall -- but you need to do that using an HP OEM version of Windows.
If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.
The recovery drive can then be used to install Windows and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
You will need a working PC and a 32GB USB stick to hold the recovery files. Here is the link:

You use the Microsoft Store to download the actual tool:

Since the original PC can no longer be used for this, you will have to provide your PC's product number. Here is an HP link for finding that information:

Yeah i have a recovery usb i made actually before windows 11 upgrade and a bitloccker usb. I figured as much for both. First i have to update firmware on modem router ccombo or get a new one as it i believe is the tunnel that was first compromised. I screwed the bios enough to disapear all hard drives or disabled by my lack of knowledge to fix it but sure enough to screw it up worse. Luckily i have two professional friends who do it for a livimg. Both said scrap the HDD in the pavillion and go SSD and it would cost around $200. I want my 4K TRS 80, Comodore 64 and Apple II E back. They were actually fun to have. Remember when haming was " youre standing in front of a door in a large castle" with the prompt ready for a command you had to guess? Actually i dont miss that ever sincr Grand Theft Auto and Mortal Kombat. Right now its hung in startup. At least i learned a bit more about what not to do.
