I was given a Z420 some time back finally starting to mess with it. Believe it is bricked, was given another mother board with same problem. Have been reading about this and has been covered add infinitum. Looking at several options. 1. buy another board. 2. wondering about programming a bios chip to the BIOS version 1.07 and swapping it. Finding a download for that version non existent. Does anyone know if it is possible to copy the bin file from another computer and use that to program a chip? Or is it possible to get the BIOS from AMI?

I am also curios about the EXE. thumb drive trick. Does the latest HP update also update the CMOS. compatibility of BIOS and CMOS seems to be the real issue. Do you still have to update to v. 1.23 before upgrading to latest? (Another unavailable version as well)
