HP 280 G2 Microtower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone.
I have a simple question, but don't know how to solve it.
I use Win10 64bit, and I have 2 display, 1920*1080 DVI-HDMI and 1280*1024 VGA.
My BIOS version is A.0.24(old version a bit^_^)
There is no extend display card, I just use onboard display card.

The issue is:

After I power on, there are only blank screens while pc turning on, until show windows log in UI.
So, I can't enter BIOS, (yes, I couldn't see BIOS screen)

And, I try to remove all displays, and connect only one to VGA,
but if I connect 1280*1024 display(it is my friend's), the same issue comes
only connect 1920*1080 dispay, then I can see BIOS screen, can enter it. (incredible at last)

But there is no option to change screen resolution in my BIOS.

So, my question is

1. can I change screen resolution in BIOS screen?
I want to change 1280*1024 so that I can see small display also.

2. If I upgrade BIOS, can this problem be solved? if failed, how can I recover old version of BIOS?

Thank you.

hi

sorry, I didn't understand everything, but no, the bios does not have a resolution change option
I used different screens, of different sizes, with different types of vga / hdmi connection and no problem to go into the bios
Only remark, the bios, only opens according to the main connector if at least two screens

Thank you @Promethee
But in my situation, there is no screen while computer starts.
even though I have two displays.
I even can't see HP logo screen.
Only after windows 10 login UI appears, my screen comeback.
Why?
So, I can't enter BIOS screen.
But if I only connected 1920*1080 VGA display, then all are normal process.  I can see HP Logo, also can enter BIOS.
really confused about this.
Sorry about my explanation is not so good understandable.

Sorry, I don't quite understand
for my part, I have two screens, the computer starts quite quickly, so I almost immediately arrive at the windows screen, but the display is only on the first screen, the second opens slightly out of step, but this is normal..
if I restart the computer, and I type my f10 key immediately, several times, then the bios also opens on the main HDMI screen
screen with resolution under windows Ultra hd
1080p, 1920x1080
that's not a problem

I read your first message
and I see "1920*1080 DVI-HDMI"
is it only with this the problem, and therefore you speak here, of connection dvi, hdmi, by adapter?
could that be the problem?

No
It shouldn't be a problem
I just use same display with VGA cable , then I can see HP Logo screen and also can enter bios as I told before.
But when I connect with DVI-HDMI cable, even there are only one same display as I connected before, still don't show any screen, just blank screen, while pc start,
only after Windows Login Password appear, then display is working well.
This issue also comes when I use 2 display(DVI-HDMI as one, VGA as another).
Really confused about this.
Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I think it may be caused by the dvi/hdmi connection, if I understood your remarks correctly

I am sure it is not problem with dvi/hdmi connection.

I want to, but how can I be sure?
what configuration do you actually have?
graphics card, video connectors available?
here not clear because you have dvi/hdmi

(1) DisplayPort

NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 2GB PCIe x8 (optional, selected countries only)

but not specified the type of connector, for each graphics card, and motherboard

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
I will explain again.
I don't have extend graphics card, only have onboard one.
You can see, my motherboard has two display output. DVI and VGA.
So I connected 2 displays with DVI/HDMI and VGA.
and first main display is 1920*1080 with DVI/HDMI
and second display is 1280*1024 with VGA.
I think it can help you understand my issue.
Let me tell you again my issue then.
Whenever I release power button, computer starts, but all screens are blank screen.
Only after Windows Login Password Appears, all 2 displays come back.
This issue same when I connect only one of them.
But (maybe it is important) if I connect 1920*1080 display via VGA, (this time I connect only one display) then, bigno, we can see HP logo screen and bios.
Hope you can understand.
Thank you very much.

ok but

(1) VGA
(1) DisplayPort

it may not change much, but you are talking to me about DVI
off, unless it's ultimately not your computer, I see Displayport here??

but regardless, do you have the possibility to do the test, with a screen on the non-vga port, but with something other than an adapter?
