I have just purchased a new hp z2g9 workstation to replace my hp envy 700-230qe desktop tower computer. The new computer has windows 11 pro preinstalled. The old computer has windows 10 home installed and is not upgradable to windows 11. I have numerous programs on the old computer which are "old" but essential. I cannot reinstall them from scratch on the new computer because of numerous upgrades over the internet (which are no longer available) and age. I am going to try to move them using pcmover to the new computer, but it may not work. As a backup solution, I am wondering if I could remove the sata hard drive from the old computer and install it in the new computer as an additional hard drive and then set up a dual boot system in the new computer so that I could access these old programs, if necessary, from the old drive. If this is possible, how would I go about doing this and how do I set up the dual boot once I have transferred the old hard drive as an additional sata drive on the new computer? Thanks for ay help.

the easiest solution is to install win 11 on the new system
then install a emulator like vmware's "workstation pro emulator"
and have it access the old hard drives' win 10 install
