Can i update my hp compaq pro sff pc bios from hps win 8 option while running win 10

Can i update my hp compaq 6005 pro sff pc's bios to the latest available one on hps website (win 8 64bit) if im currently running win 10?

The update will run in windows emulation mode for windows 7.

Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.

As part of the BIOS update, the old bios and the new one are stored in an HP recovery partition. If you get an error there is not enough space then the partition does not exist or it is too small. In this case you need create a bootable USB that has the BIOS update because just running the bios update app will not work.

It is always dangerous to upgrade bios. Unless there is a real need and the HP support assistant requests the upgrade, I would not do it. Look at the BIOS revision history and see if an upgrade is useful. Updates that improve security are needed in a corporate environment but for gaming system they will likely slow down your system.
I personally would not upgrade any gaming BIOS that was only security related unless the PC was used in a corporate, industrial or military organization.

I looked at your bios revision history and the last three bios updates do appear to do some good

Decided if you want to risk a BIOS upgrade.

Im trying to get virtualiztion on but that option does not show up in bios, im not even sure if update bios will help with that or not tbh but regardless the bios does need an update on this fossile of a pc
