Hello all,
My original HD crashed beyond recovery. I installed a 4TB WD (new). After I made a bootable USB for Ubuntu on an other computer, I need to change boot order on my HP. All I get on startup is the blackscreen with system info. In the right bottom corner it says “settings”. But whatever I do, it does not go any further.
If you could help me with this problem, I would be very grateful.
Greetings Joska

Hi:
You don't need to change the boot order to boot from another device.
Have the bootable USB device in the PC, turn on or restart the PC.
Immediately tap the ESC Key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.
Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.
The PC should boot from the flash drive.

Thank you Paul for the quick reply
I followed your instructions as far as possible but...
Unfortunately I do not get the HP screen anymore sinds the crash.
When hitting the escape I get in the right bottomcorner Startmenu.
When hitting F10 I get Setup in the same corner.
When doing nothing I get nothing in the bottom right corner.
So when starting up the first screen I get is the black system info screen. Not as usual the HP startup screen.
