After I enable hyper-v I can't boot.

  • Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 19536
  • I've upgraded to the latest HP Bios, 2.9
  • I can't find anything online about my machine regarding enabling virtualization in the bios

I was able to install Containers and Hyper-v after going back to Version 1909! 🎉

Using the details here: https://www.howtogeek.com/274780/how-to-switch-from-windows-10s-insider-preview-back-to-stable-witho... I was able to get back to 1909.  The only way I could get back to 1909 was to re-install windows from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.

Resetting my PC did not take be back to 1909.  It kept me on Build 19536.

Interesting tidbit:

Hello, what error have you when you try to boot with Hyper-V? Is it a problem with Windows booting??

You are using an Insider build of Windows, so maybe your build can have some problems.. Do you have the same problem with a "standard" build??

Maybe you can try this for uninstall your Insider build:  https://www.howtogeek.com/235474/how-to-roll-back-builds-and-uninstall-updates-on-windows-10/

Your CPU may not support Virtualization.

Check Task Manager: If you don't see the word 'virtualization' your CPU doesn't support it.

>what error have you when you try to boot with Hyper-V? Is it a problem with Windows booting??

no errors it just silently reboots a couple times then brings up "problems start you computer" and I end using a restore point to make my machine boot again.

>Do you have the same problem with a "standard" build??

Not sure.  I guess I'll have to try to roll back to eliminate that variable.

If you have the turning wheel when your computer don't start it is maybe a problem with Windows. Please check your CPU reference (see message from @y2ken ).

Sorry, don't follow, never heard of that before.  Do you mean model?  It's a AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE 3.2 - 3.8GHz.

Btw, the processor model # is in the task manager screenshot.
